Different Types of Wicks Available
1. Silica Wicks:
The pioneer in wicks, silica is what was predominantly used when vaping was discovered. As a beginner’s choice, a silica wick is not a bad bargain. It helps the liquid travel quickly to the atomizer, without getting too heated, as silica is resistant to heat and also maintains a decent level of flavor in the drag. Silica wicks have been considered as one of the best and are also preferred as they facilitate hassle-free installation. It is also quite convenient to clean them up if they do get clumpy by just dry burning them. These wicks have a higher level of longevity and can even bear the brunt up to thirty days.
2. Ekowool Wicks:
Your everyday silica wick comes in a braided style too. The Ekowool wicks are designed with a hollow centre to enable you to entwine a coil around it effortlessly. You could easily insert a wooden pick into the hollow centre to hold it in place as you do so.
3. Stainless Steel Mesh Wicks:
One of the most durable versions of a wick, the Stainless Steel Mesh wicks give you a higher level of flavor and need lesser number of replacements. Maintenance is key to longevity. As these are most compatible with atomizers of genesis-style, you need to maintain them by torching the mesh and rapidly cooling it down. 4. Organic Cotton Wicks:
One of the most combustible wicks available, the Organic Cotton wick gives you one of the highest levels of flavorsome drags. This wick needs a little bit of work around it and skilled hands for installation. It is advisable to use a pick or a jig to coil the wick, and you first are to wrap the coil around the atomizer and then insert the cotton inside it. One needs to be careful about the quantity of the cotton that is being put in: too much of it and the flavor gets affected whereas, too less shall result in hot-spots.
