Vaporesso Revenger X Kit Review

Vapresso Revenger X Kit Review

The Vaporesso Revenger X is a DL (direct lung inhale) mod device from Vaporesso. It’s much the same as their previous Vaporesso Revenger, but instead of buttons, it features a touch screen, with improved software, tank, and drip tip. If you are a beginner who is entering the vaping world and want to replace hookah (Shisha), or want to chase big clouds, then this mod is a good option.

The Kit Content:

The Revenger X comes with the following:

1* Revenger X Mod / 1* NRG Tank / 1* GT4 Core Extra Coil / 1* GT8 Core (Pre-installed) / 1* Replacement Glass Tube / 1* Vaporesso USB Cable / 1* User Manual

Design and Material:

The Revenger X is a fairly chunky device but it fits easily into the palm of your hand. Being touchscreen, the screen is large and takes up most of the body. This is a cool look, but I worry that such a large touch-screen would be prone to shattering it happens to be dropped. One of the main issues of the material is the finger prints, which is annoying to a lot of people, including myself. Scratches could happen to the mod, if you did not take good care of it.

The Revenger X comes with immersive and more integrated look, and is available in 5 colors: black, red, green, blue and a headache-inducing multi-colored option. All colours metallic. Personally, I prefer a matte colour, but the futuristic look goes quite well with the touchscreen. Here’s a glimpse into vapes of the future.

The plugs right into the centre of the body, which is a cool design as it allows for bigger tanks. It also makes the whole thing just look a little symmetrical, for those with an eye for aesthetics.

Size and Weight:

The Revenger X is a pretty powerful machine, and as a result of this, it was never going to be light and tiny. With that said, compared to many box mods, this one isn’t so bad. It feels nice in your hand, with just enough weight (66gm without liquid) that it feels sturdy, but not so much that it’s going to pull your pants down if it’s in your pocket.

Battery, Power and Charging:

The Revenger X requires dual 18650 rechargeable batteries, which are not included, so the -life really depends on how you’re willing to fork out buying the batteries. The kit comes with a USB charging cord but charging 18650 batteries in this way can damage the and mod lives. So my advice is to external charger for the batteries. The device has a front facing charging port and an icon on the screen that lets you know how charged your device is (think old school Nokia phones).

The power ranges from 5W-220W, and temperature control ranges from: 100℃-315℃/200F-600F, which fits all your need starting from a simple MTL (mouth to lung) vaping to extreme DL (direct lung inhale) vaping. But for you need to a relevant and coil.

Tank:

The Revenger X comes with a 5ml Dl as standard, but it’s possible to a 2ml  tank. It’s a top-filling which makes for easier, cleaner filling. It has a slide and fill design which clicks in and out of place making the chances of a leakage minimal. Remember that you can another coil and use it on the same mod, and the Vaporesso Revenger X has a great feature by adjusting automatically the power to match the new coil.

Coil:

The Revenger X comes with a pre-installed GT8 coil and a spare GT4 coil. There’s a wide selection of coils available to making this great for and DL vaping. The coils are really great quality and regardless of size, they’ll produce a good amount of vapor and great tasts (flavor). The flavour is surprisingly intense. With this device it’s possible to go all the way up 110, which is crazy.

Airflow System:

The Revenger X has a sliding airflow system which open on both sides of the bottom of the tank. It allows for a really changeable amount of airflow. As with most things on this device, it’s possible to do almost anything you want with it.

Usability and Coil Installation:

Changing the coil is pretty intuitive. You simply unscrew the from the body, unscrew the bottom from the and replace the coil. It’s all quite straight forward. In terms of usability, it’s simple, with a large fire button that has a satisfying click.

Isolation:

This device has some of the most thought put into insulation that I’ve ever seen (it needs to if it’s capable of 110W). It’s great.

Software:

The software is the biggest difference between the Revenger X and the previous Revenger. It has a larger screen and has got rid of the buttons in favour of a touchscreen. The display tells you everything you need to know, voltage, ohms, and battery. A great feature is the automatic power adjustment when you change the /coil.

The mechanical buttons now give way to a highly responsive touch buttons, bringing out the more integrated look of the IML interface. Built with OMNI Board 2.2, in addition to all the advanced settings and output modes, it now has a more friendly UI, easier to navigate for all vapers.

However, I think that they need to update the software, as the clock is not functioning properly. And locking/unlocking and switching on/off features could be enhanced.

Price:

This is definitely on the more expensive side. It’s a well-built mod that’s going to last for a long time and is capable of doing almost anything you want it to. The replacement coil in the starter kit is a good thing but the lack of batteries included seems a little Scrooge-like.

4 Score

The Revenger X is a really high-quality mod that is going to stay with you (probably as your main vape) for a long time. The design is quite cool and the touchscreen works well. It is a good option if you are looking for a DL box mod, and also one. But you have to take good care of it to avoid breaking the screen and scratches. The finger printing might be a problem for some of you.
